I enjoy the [PAT] program because I get to connect with the people who work at Tri County Community Action and other parents.

Our Impact This Year

Everything we do is aimed at disrupting and permanently breaking the cycle of poverty for everyone living in our community.

Did you know that right now, 51,419 of your neighbors, friends, co-workers, and family members are economically insecure?

Last year, 38% of the people we helped were working and providing the sole source of income for their households - 63% were women, and 51% of households had children in the home. These were and are hard-working, caring, and productive members of our community - they are YOU - and we helped 31,664 of you stabilize, sustain, and take steps toward economic independence.

Building on Success: Heather’s Continued Path Forward

Heather has continued to work with Krissy, and over the past few months, she has made progress with her children. She has been effectively co-parenting with the children’s father while she just completed her college semester, keeping her on track to graduate next year.

While Heather has been flourishing academically, she has also learned to set boundaries with new people entering her life. Krissy encouraged her to know what she wants and is comfortable in her friendships. This has allowed Heather to grow and have healthier relationships with her friends.

Krissy’s work has also helped Heather’s daughter, Natalie, overcome some challenges and achieve their goals. Krissy's knowledge of community resources has served as a hub, opening the door for Heather to begin advocating for her family. Heather has also become a coach for her daughter’s softball team, allowing her to be more involved with both of her children!

This summer, Heather plans to spend time with her kids by attending community events, like our Group Connections and Pop-up Play Dates! Looking toward the future, Heather plans to continue her schooling and find a paid internship so she can focus on her career growth and gain experience. Krissy will continue to visit with Heather and Natalie, serving as a guiding light when Heather faces obstacles with her family. We are excited to see how she continues to grow in our Parents as Teachers program!
